2. Start your text message with keyword: SOPD
3. Within a minute, you will receive a text message with your alias. This confirms that your text message was received.  The alias identifier is used by the officer to communicate with you, through text, regarding the tip you submitted.


4. Remember the officer does not know your identity or location.

The Weber/Morgan Narcotics Strike Force is a multi jurisdictional drug unit located in Ogden City, Utah. It is comprised of law enforcement officers from the Weber County Sheriff's Office, Ogden, Roy, Riverdale, North and South Ogden Police Departments, and the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). It exists for the purpose of investigating and prosecuting the illegal importation, manufacture, use, and sale of controlled substances under local, state and federal laws. The Strike Force's area of responsibility consists of Weber and Morgan Counties, which have a combined population of 195,000 and covers 1154 square miles.

The primary focus of the Strike Force is the street level dealer. This is due to the detrimental impact in the neighborhoods resulting from the sales of illegal drugs and other criminal activity attributed to the use and distribution of illegal drugs. A great deal of our success in this area is a result of the information we receive from the citizens in our communities about suspected drug activity through our Tip A Cop program. We've adopted the slogan "It's Your Neighborhood" to encourage law abiding citizens to take a stand and collaborate with law enforcement in an effort to remove the drug element from our neighborhoods.
