Skyline Drive Extension Project Update
June 30, 2016
In observance of the Independence Day holiday, no work is scheduled for Monday, July 4.
Construction crews have begun a major trucking operation to import several hundred tons of material at the northern limits of the project. Once the roadway is raised approximately 4 feet, work will commence on storm drain up the new portion of the roadway. Another 4-5 feet of material will be imported on top of the new storm drain once that work is complete.
Crews are finishing work with the lower portion of the storm drain at Uintah Elementary, with pavement and concrete work on the walking path around the perimeter of the school yard.
As a safety precaution, we would like to remind residents that all areas in the construction zone, as indicated with traffic control devices, are off limits.
This project will extend Skyline Drive from Megan Circle on the south to the Ogden City limits on the north. The new road will be approximately three-quarters of a mile and will include construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Combe Road and Skyline Drive. Storm drain upgrades are taking place along Skyline Drive and Eastwood Blvd.
Project completion anticipated by Fall of 2016.
Please note that due to weather, project conflicts, utility issues, or equipment/supply issues, schedules are subject to change.
