Court Clerk
South Ogden City is seeking a skilled professional for the position of Full Time Court Clerk. This position receives telephone calls, answers questions, assists public in resolving questions, and provides information about city and court procedures. Issues arrest and bench warrants, orders to show cause, warning letters, and enters case information into computer. Assists with general office functions and daily processes in assisting the public; receives and receipts court and utility payments; performs general secretarial duties such as typing letters, memos, and other correspondence. This position also works as a passport acceptance agent.
This position requires a valid driver’s license, an associate degree or two (2) years of related experience. Incumbents must be eligible to receive security clearance to access the State Computer System (UCJIS)
The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.93 – $23.76 per hour based upon experience and qualifications plus an excellent benefits package.

Lateral Police Officer I-III

South Ogden City is accepting applications for a full time Police Officer. Applicants must be a US Citizen, and have a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and current Utah POST Certification. Candidates must pass a stringent background check, drug screen, and a psychological evaluation. A college degree and prior law enforcement are preferred but not required.
Candidate must possess ability to prepare clear and concise written reports, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, analyze dangerous situations rapidly and accurately before taking safe effective action, enforce federal, state and municipal laws and work with the public in a courteous respectful manner.
Work conditions may present high stress and threat to personal safety during periods of search and seizure and arrest. Incumbents may be exposed to toxic materials, have to deal with unruly or dangerous individuals, unsafe building sites and may have to use deadly force. Incumbents may also be required to extend work schedule during emergency situations.

Seasonal Parks Maintenance
South Ogden is recruiting for a Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker. This position performs a variety of entry level skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, upkeep and repair of city buildings, recreation facilities, parks and grounds.
This position requires one year of general work experience. Preference will be given to those with experience working on a park maintenance crew. The starting hourly wage for this position is $14.17 per hour

Full Time Firefighter II or III
South Ogden City is accepting applications for full-time Firefighter/EMT II or III. Applicants for a Firefighter II must be at least 18 years of age, have a High School Diploma or equivalent, have an EMT-B, Hazmat Awareness and Operations, Firefighter I and II Cert, and a valid driver's license. Firefighter III candidates must have the same certifications plus an EMT-A certification.
Firefighters provide a variety of entry-level firefighting duties related to protection of life and property by performing firefighting, emergency medical aid, and fire prevention/education duties. This position also performs minor maintenance efforts with firefighting and medical equipment, apparatus, and facilities.
The starting hourly wage for a Firefighter II is $16.79.
The starting hourly wage for a Firefighter III is $17.05 - $22.45 depending on qualifications and experience.

Crossing Guard
This part time position observes road traffic to determine best timing for road crossings; admits children and pedestrians into designated crossing locations; escorts children and pedestrians as needed to assure safe crossings; acts defensively when anticipating on-coming vehicles. Reports to assigned location at pre-determined times; turns pedestrian traffic lights on and off; sets out safety cones; wears and uses required safety apparel and equipment; reports faulty and/or malfunctioning lights, apparel and equipment to supervisor; clears snow or debris from walkways to ensure safe, unobstructed passage.
